 Facility Performance Evaluation
POE Contest Entry for Nancy Vierra

Question:   How Can Post Occupancy Evaluation help you or DGS do a better job?

A Post-Occupancy Evaluation would be of benefit to customers in planning future buildings.

Because the Department of Finance and the LAO require documentation and justification for unique program circumstances, a POE would be able to provide this type of information, and support program efforts such as developing space standards - ie. larger areas for space planners and engineers who need to reference full scale plans on a constant basis.

A POE would also allow DGS and its customers to determine the difference between items perceived to be benefits in a building and what those items actually turn out to be. It would be a great reality check.
